Hmmm....I'm not 100% sure I'm sold on this adaptation of The Stand, so let's go through what we know in bullet point form.
*Stephen King rewrote the ending, hopefully ditching that awkward "hand of god" thing that was in the book and previous mini-series.
*Alexander Skarsgard, Whoopi Goldberg, Heather Graham, and James Marden seem to be good casting choices.
*Not a big fan of Amber Heard or Greg Kinnear, and who the hell are the rest of these people?
*Although you can tell (especially with the g-string above) that they look like they may push a button or two, that this still reeks of "Made For T.V.".
*There is just something "not dark" about this. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it just doesn't appear to have the gravitas that it should have. Maybe it's because we're already in the middle of a plague, IDK.
*Drop the goddamn song already. That song is overused like crazy. We get it. Irony.
The end result? I will probably watch this, but will I sign up for CBS All-Access to see it early? I'm not so sure. It's going to have to have some great word of mouth to convince me.
